William Fleming

William Fleming was born in Scotland in 1662.

In 1680 William sailed from Scotland onboard his uncle's ship. He was unknowingly bound out by
his uncle as an indentured servant. After fulfilling the terms of his indenture he moved to 
other settlements on the Delaware. It's reported that he witnessed William Penn's Landing at 
New Castle on October 28, 1682. Soon after the Colonial Province of Pennsylvania was founded.
Records indicate William Fleming was the first land owner in Coatesville, Pennsylvania in 1714.  

He died Feb 1725 in Chester County, Pennsylvania. His will was executed 5 May 1726.
